Concrete Jungle, Big Apple, The City That Never Sleeps, The Empire City. Whatever you call it, there’s nothing quite like New York City. This past week, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to NYC for more than just a little vacation.
As one of the Presidents of Think Pink Society, which promotes breast cancer awareness, I went to NYC with two friends and our teacher for the BCRF event. Each year the Breast Cancer Research Foundation holds a Symposium and Awards Luncheon in the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. As the only students their, my friends and I were happily overwhelmed to be surrounded by the nation’s most prestigious breast cancer researchers and several of NYC’s socialites who often advocate for the cause.

We had the honor of listening to both Amy Robach and Barbara Walters speak at the Awards Luncheon. Also, we saw several other notable people: Hilary Rhoda, Leonard Lauder and Tory Burch.

After leaving the event, with our fabulous (and heavy) goodie-bags in-tow, we embarked for an afternoon in New York. From shopping at Bergdorf Goodman and F.O.A. Schwartz to walking in Central Park, we had the traditional NYC day.

See you soon…in the Concrete Jungle (hopefully!)
