Happy happy birthday to the Jack Rogers Navajo Sandal! In honor of the sandal’s 55th anniversary, the brand is going all out to celebrate! The classic Navajo Sandal, available in a variety of colors and textures, have been seen on the perfectly-pedicured feet of teen girls (like myself), brides, and even Jackie Kennedy!

Similar to Kennedy’s loyalty to her friend Lilly Pulitzer and the shift dress, Kennedy’s devotion and  creation of the Jack Rogers’ sandal helped the brand’s successful launch. According to Micaela English, the brand shared this anecdote: “It was on one of these Italian holidays that Jackie first met the shoe style that would become the Classic Jack Rogers Sandal, a flat sandal characterized by whipstitched leather and an iconic rondelle. On her return to Palm Beach, Jackie brought the shoe to a local cobbler and an icon was born. Easy and elegant, it quickly became a warm weather essential for women of all ages—not to mention their sisters, best friends and daughters” (Town & Country).

Fashion icon a First Lady, Kennedy certainly made the Jack Rogers sandal a staple piece in every prepster’s closet. To celebrate the popular sandal, Jack Rogers is launching a limited-edition 55th birthday line, available on April 1. The exclusive line contains only three variations of the classic sandal- Caribbean Blue, Midnight, and Bright Pink.
